Hypocalcaemia, signs, symptoms and remedies

Hypocalcaemia is a group of symptoms that appear when the level of calcium from the blood decreases abnormally. We often hear about women who complain of dizziness, fainting-like sensations and accelerating breathing. After prescribing some calcium all these symptoms disappear.

Calcium is a vital element for both women and men, but it seems that women are most affected by a loss of calcium. In women the risk of hypocalcaemia increases mostly after menopause has installed.

A great quantity of calcium is stocked in the teeth and the bones. The lack of calcium can lead to spasmophilia, which is an acute manifestation, but as well to chronic manifestations like osteoporosis or rachitism. It does not matter how old you are, as hypocalcaemia can occur even if you are young or old.

First aid for cuts and other minor wounds

Even though cuts, bruises and scratches are classified as superficial wounds, we should not neglect treating them as we can get ourselves some serious infections that will only complicate something that seemed to be so minor.

Cuts are more frequent during childhood and the first measure of treatment would be cleaning the wound with water or a local antiseptic solution. I recommend pharmaceutical sprays for opened wounds that are painful at touch.
Do not use medicinal alcohol for cleaning up a wound. This substance will only burn the tissues nearby and will cause major discomfort in children especially. You should use oxygenic water as dust, mud and any other impurities that might be found in the wound will clear out better.

How to keep your blood pressure under control

During the summer days people suffering from cardiac affections can suffer major problems with their blood pressure. The blood pressure is the force exercised by the blood on the arteries, measured during the heart’s systole and diastole. Normally our blood pressure should somewhere between 110/60mmHg and 130/80 mmHg.

Blood Pressure

If the blood vessels get narrowed, the blood circulation becomes a little bit difficult and the heart needs to

work more. Automatically the values of the blood pressure will be rising. Sometimes other organic affections like hormonal unbalances, kidney affections or even pregnancy can cause hypertension.

There are some other factors that can influence our blood pressure too: smoking, obesity, stress, and alcohol intake.

Here is what we can do in order to maintain a normal blood pressure level:

1. Give up smoking. Not only you will protect your heart vessels but will also decrease the risk of developing lung cancer.

Want to live longer? Eat the right food

We all dream to live a long healthy and prosperous life, but we do so little to fulfill this dream. I have managed to write a list of aliments that should be consumed daily and weekly so that the body can function well for many years.

Fruits and Vegetables

What you should eat daily?

1. Tomatoes. They are one of the best natural antioxidants due to their rich content of vitamin C and E. For men they are even more recommended as they prevent prostate cancer.

2. Cereals. Their fibers are good for the intestines and besides the fact that they prevent constipation they also keep colon cancer away. They are quite satiating and they help you maintain a healthy weight.

3. Garlic. Even though this is not an aliment that can be consumed daily, due to its intense scent, you can eat it from time to time as it is a heart protector and keeps infections away.

5 Tips on how to treat bruises

We all know what bruises are, how painful and unpleasant they are especially for women. No matter how careful we are it is impossible for us to keep or body away from bruising. Different accidents, traumatisms and even an intense pressure on our arms or legs can have as a result the occurrence of a big violet bruise.

Here are some tips on how to help your body remove faster that nasty-looking bruise:

1. If you have a simple bruise, with no other tissue lesions you can apply on that area a bandage soaked in comfrey tea. Keep it there for one hour. The tea is easy to prepare: ½ l of boiling water adding 30g of comfrey. Let it rest for 10 minutes. Do not drink the remaining tea after applying the bandage.

2. Every 3 hours apply marigold cream on the bruising zone. This will prevent an intense bruising from occurring.
