Overweight people are coming up as a serious health problem, across the world. There was a time when people were desperate to add some flesh and muscle in their bodies. Now they are desperate in trying to off load weight from their body, rather than gaining. Millions and millions of people are suffering from extra deposition of fat in their body. They are now called as medically unfit individuals. They now won’t be able to do their regular job without any assistance and at the same time, they are suffering from lots of other diseases and extra fat is the root cause of all the diseases.

Weight loss has always been a concern for many people nowadays, since obesity can be a source of some detriments like disease development (cardiac disease, diabetes) and disturbed self-perception. People have employed several means to lose weight like dieting, physical activity and the like. Recent studies have revealed that dietary fibers from brown algae can create a sense of satiety, which will lead people to eat less and reduce weight. This was according to the study done by the researchers at the Faculty of Life Science (LIFE) at the University of Copenhagen.

With the growing problem of obesity, many individuals are already getting health conscious especially in terms of their food choices and lifestyle habits. Health care professionals are advising the general public to be more extra cautious regarding their lifestyle and have some modifications if they feel that it is already necessary.

Many individuals think that they have already to cut down their weights by burning the excess fats circulating in their body through exercises and healthy diet. But this measure seemed to be very difficult to others especially that they love to eat and they are the type of person who does not want to engage in physical activities just for them to burn extra calories. Hence, this leads them to be stagnant to their routines which can be categorized as unhealthy.

Obesity and overweight across the globe have been major health issues which are striking not only the adults but as well as the teenagers and the young children. It is a proven fact that being obese and overweight is accompanied by many health risks which can the life of the person into danger. Some of these health risk includes the development of cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and heart attack, also, the person who is obese might suffer from his heavy weight which make him unable to do some activities which entails body movement and strenuous activities. Hence, many medical health professionals and researchers are continuing to conduct further studies on how to reduce the weights that obese and over weight individuals are carrying. In fact, a new researches say that eating a little bit slower than the usually can actually help in cutting down weights.

Recent studies have discovered a strong link between the children ability to learn, their weight and facing sleep difficulties. These three factors have the power to influence each other.

The hypothesis of the study was that having hard time to learn for some children comes from not getting enough sleep and from being overweight. This hypothesis works  also vice-versa, learning difficulties being able to put children at a higher risk for obesity and sleep problems.

The study was applied on 351 elementary school children with an average age of 8. It is one of the first studies to use so young children and also one of the first to analyze the interaction between these 3 factors: lack of sleep, intelligence and obesity.
