Men are considered to be on the higher side of risk of experiencing the stage of memory loss or mild cognitive impairment which occurs generally between aging and dementia, than the female gender, proved by a study which was published on 25th January at an online issue of Neurology. The findings proved to be surprising since it is women who are considered to have higher rates of dementia ailment than men, admitted author of Mayo Clinic, R.O. Roberts. The risk of MCI in women and men combined was much higher in this particular age group of elderly people. This is very disturbing that people now live longer and MCI has a larger impact on the costs of health care, if augmented efforts at prevention are not used to diminish the risk.

Researchers from the University of Missouri conducted a study to prove that the most common assumption “Men are superior to women in math” is wrong. The hypothesis said that due to the stereotype that “Men are superior to women in math” females tend to develop a low self image in this field, which then leads to underachievement in mathematics.

In a new study conducted by clinical researchers in Scotland, it was found out that men develop type 2 diabetes even with a lower BMI measurement, as compared to women. This finding may explain why there are countries wherein diabetes is more common in men than among women.

It is a well established fact that being overweight and obese is a big factor in the development of diabetes type 2, however this study was able to prove that even with a lesser weight gain than women, they can develop the condition. The study was conducted by the group of Professor Naveed Sattar of the Institute of Cardiovascular and Medical Sciences at the University of Glasgow.

  1. Impotence is quite frequent caused by depressions. That is what a study made on 1700 patients (aged from 40 to 70) who suffer or impotence says. It seems that those men who suffer of depression are twice likelier to develop impotence than those men who have a healthy psychic. As impotence causes psychic storms and stress due to the fear of the impossibility of fulfilling sexual acts, depression goes deeper and deeper every day. This can be considered a vicious circle, and the only solution for this would be talking to a psychologist and solve the depression.
