Adults with ADHD are treated through special behavioral therapies and medication which enable them to control the symptoms of hyperactivity and impulsivity to reduce the chances of any possible damage or abnormal behavior.

Different behavioral therapies used to control and improve the psychological disturbance of ADHD patient include cognitive therapies to improve learning abilities, relaxation techniques for stress management, job counseling for improving professional abilities and special behavioral coaching for teaching normal behavioral responses. Moreover the family members of such patient are also trained to deal with the symptoms of his disturbed mental condition and to support him to get back to normal life activities.           

Medication for Treating ADHD in Adults

Medication used for treating adults with ADHD include Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall and Strattera etc which help to control depression, anxiety and severe hyperactive condition of such patient.    

Prevention of ADHD in Adults     

Though it is not possible to treat ADHD completely but it can be prevented if certain measures are taken by family, friends, clinicians and by the patient himself. The preventive measure to tackle with ADHD in adults include taking medicine timely, maintaining healthy life style, having proper discipline in daily activities, positive reinforcement, self help, personal skill developmental techniques and above all complete support, love and care of family members. If all these preventive steps are followed honestly then no reason left which could prevent such patient to lead a much normal life like other normal beings around him.
