The distressing condition of food poisoning can be prevented easily if we take certain measures in out daily routine. Here these simple and easy preventive measures are discussed briefly which can keep you from being caught by this life threatening food illness.

Cook the Food at Proper Temperature

The main cause behind all food infections is improperly cooked food where bacteria are not killed during cooking process. Therefore the first measure you have to take is to cook your food at proper temperature level which can completely kill the bacteria or other poisoning factor present in the food item. Now the question is that what would the right temperature level? The answer is that from 40 degree Fahrenheit to 140 degree Fahrenheit is an ideal temperature range to help multiplying the number of bacteria rapidly so if you want to eliminate them completely then you have to cook your food at such temperature level which would be out of this specific temperature range. For checking the current temperature of your cooking item you can also use a thermometer. It is advisable that a thermometer is must be a part of your cooking environment to avoid food poisoning as much as possible.

Food Refrigeration

After cooking the next thing is refrigeration of food items. Remember that you should not be careless about leaving those things on your kitchen counter which must be kept in refrigerator or freezer. Keep cold things in cool environment by maintaining your refrigerator at less than 40 degree Fahrenheit and freezer at 0 degree Fahrenheit. Wash the fruits, vegetables and meat properly to remove every infecting element. Such temperature level is perfectly suitable to kill the bacteria and to hinder their growth at all which helps in string the food for long time at proper condition.

Special Emphasis on Sanitary Conditions

Now it comes to sanitary conditions of food cooking and storing environment. First of all wash your hands after doing anything involve germs or poisoning factors particularly after coming out of wash rooms. Secondly wash the bowls, plates, spoons, glasses, pans and dishes properly in which you cook and serve the food. Keep the surrounding environment neat and clean as well to hinder the bacteria and virus growth at that place.

Be Conscious while Using Packed Food

Do not use those packed food items which has broken seals, dented cans or unusual smell in them particularly in case of diary products like pasteurized milk, cheese and yogurt etc.

Avoid Junk Food or Open Food Places with Unsatisfactory Hygienic Conditions

Avoid dinning out at places where you see careless attitude in food handling particularly at busy streets and open food market where less attention is given to store, cook or present the food items to their customers.
