People who are already suffering from constipation will benefit from eating even more than four servings of vegetables a day.
Other than using fruits and vegetables to relieve constipation, other modifications in diet can also be done to relieve constipation and that is by adding whole grains in the diet and reducing the consumption of processed foods. This can help to increase the fiber in the diet to relieve constipation.
Oral medications can be used to relieve the constipation. These drugs are called laxatives and they include glycerol suppositories and also other substances like milk of Magnesia. These are available in different countries under different names.
Certain medications that are given to help relieve constipation mainly helps to make sure that the water content in the stools is retained. This in turn makes it easier for the person to be able to pass stools than when they have not used these water retaining medications.
