Itchy Face happens to most of us at times and that could be because of various reasons. At times these mild facial itching can become serious and requires medical attention.

Causes of itchy face could be-

• Allergies can be most of the common cause of itchy face and a person can be allergic towards shampoo, soap, makeup, jewelry and some foods. To wash off your face it is advisable to use some mild face wash of recognized brand and avoid wearing those things on your face which causes you allergy.
• Do wash you face at least twice everyday with a face wash as unhygienic habits lead to itching of face.
• During winter skin becomes dry and hence can lead to itching. It is advisable to apply a good moisturizer on your face.
• Funny to say as some people have a bad habit of rubbing their nose or touching face again and again due to lack of confidence or nervousness. This can lead to itchy face.

Treatment of itchy face can be done by following a proper hygiene, avoid the use of substances which you are allergic to and you can also take antihistamines. If you have persistent problems of itchy skin then do get your skin examined.

Facial Rash- a facial rash could occur because of some allergy to a medicine or some bacterial infection.

Causes of facial rash are

1.  Viral infections like chickenpox, measles the itchy vesicles are there on the face which goes off soon but they can lead to facial rash and for that you need to take antiviral drugs.

2.  Insects bites also can lead to facial rash but they disappear after few days but if the itching persists then you need to take antihistamines.

3.  Acne is small black spots or they are of red color which is usually found in our face. Acne doesn’t itch mostly but when it itches you can use ointments and antibiotics.

4.  Rosacea are found mostly among adults as red puffy rashes on face which affects nose, cheek and forehead.At times pus can be found in red puffs.

5. Eczema is quite common among kids which is caused due to allergic reactions

Towards soap and detergent or diet.

6. Lupus is found mostly in women and affects the immune system of body and it has rashes like butterfly and occurs in nose and cheeks. It increases due to exposure in sun.

7. Rashes also do appear due allergic reactions to some medications and can be quite serious. Rash could be there for few weeks and it needs medical intervention.

8. In small infants their saliva can cause rashes in face as saliva are alkaline in nature.
