Dieting interests to most of us and especially to those who want to loose weight. There is one diet plan known as Blood Type Diet which is based on your blood type. It means in a simple language that two people who have same blood type will follow the same diet plan. This diet plan has been invented by Peter D’Adamo.

This diet plan is based on a type of protein which is known as “lectins”.If you eat a food which contains lectins which is not in sync with your blood type than it will have a negative impact to your body. It is being believed that Blood Type O is the oldest blood group belonging to our ancestors and they are the most found blood group in our population. Blood type O should also do lots of exercises.

However the problem can be solved if you eat food which goes fine with your blood type.

Here is the diet:

Blood Type A: a vegetarian diet needed to be followed.
Blood Type B: can follow non vegetarian as well as vegetarian diet
Blood Type O: can follow a non vegetarian diet
Blood Type AB: can follow diet meant for A and B Blood type.

I have Blood Type A which means I will have to leave eating non-vegetarian food.

Lectins which are found in our diet are usually not harmful and are flushed out of our system.

Blood Type diet however does not uphold any scientific theory. Two people can have same blood type and yet have different metabolism. Most of people don’t know their blood type and it means that they must be eating wrong kind of food and since they must be eating for a long time by now all the important organs of them would have been damaged as their red blood cells must have got agglutinated due to the negative effects of Lectins.

A sample meal plan according to your blood type:

Type A blood: Vegetables, grains, legumes and fruits.
Type B blood: Meat, dairy, grains, legumes and fruits.
Type O blood: Meat, legumes and fruits.

Hollywood stars are fans of Blood Type diet as Demi Moore, Liz Hurley, and Hugh Grant are some of those who have followed this diet plan for a better weight loss.

One of the latest fans of Blood type diet is singer Cheryl Tweedy who is following this diet to maintain her fitness.
