A skin boil is an acute inflammation of the skin that develops in the hair follicles. These boils are filled with puss and are caused by the Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria. They are usually found on the face, neck, inner thighs and buttocks. Boils are contagious and can be painful. It usually takes 2-3 weeks for the boils to burst and drain the puss out. There are various natural remedies for boils. Let us look at some:

1. Use a warm slice of tomato to compress the skin of a boil. A warm tea bag can also be used and can give excellent results.
2. To draw the pus out and relieve some irritation, you may use garlic and onions as a compress.
3. Apply a warm compress with a soft cloth on the boil. This gives much relief from the pain.
4. Make a paste out of a teaspoon of fenugreek powder with water and apply it on the boil and close it with a soft cloth. Repeat this twice a day for great results.
5. Mix a tablespoon of honey with a tablespoon of Cod Liver oil and apply it in the boil. Close the boil with a band aid. You must repeat this after 8 hours. This will give excellent results.
6. Mix a table spoon of lemon juice in a cup of fresh bitter gourd juice and drink it on empty stomach. This will help in killing the bacteria.
7. Mix milk cream with vinegar and a pinch of turmeric powder. Apply this paste on the boil and leave it. This helps in healing the boil without causing septic.
8. Application of turmeric powder is also an effective remedy for boils.
9. Eating fibrous food and preventing constipation helps in controlling boils and curing them. You must make sure your bowels are clean.
10. Applying Aloe Vera juice also helps greatly in curing boils.
11. Application of honey is an age old method to treat any infections. Honey has natural anti biotic properties.
12. Mashing fresh figs and applying it on the boils also helps in relieving the pan and curing it.
