Manage you time efficiently and you will have a better life!

It seems that some people always get to finish their work projects on time, always get on time home for eating their stake warm, always look clean and with their clothes in order and always have time for taking a family vacation. You might wonder how come these people manage to do all these things in a short time when you can’t even get your kids to the zoo in a week-end due to the lack of time.
The reason why some people manage to do a lot of things in a short period of time would be efficient time management. Don’t think that they are super-humans or that they cheat at work or steal ideas for buying more time; they have just learned how to handle things better and how to make a perfect day schedule and stick to it.
Everybody can get a better organized program, if sticking to some minor life principles. You don’t have to steal or cheat or even lie in order to achieve extra time for your activities; all you have to do is learn how to manage you time better. Here are a few ideas you could follow for becoming a better organized person.
1. First of all, get yourself an agenda. Write down the most important things you need to do during the next week, considering the fact that not all of your time eating activities are vital. They might be important and urgent but they won’t all be vital. So, learn how to schedule your priorities and forget about how to prioritize your schedule.
2. When using a daily schedule, also use a time sheet. You can use 30 minute blocks in order to keep track of your daily time. At the end of each day you will be able to draw a conclusion on how you actually spent your time during that day. This method will help you make better changes in your schedule and will allow you to divide your time efficiently.
3. Accept the fact that you can’t do all the work by yourself and try to delegate certain chars to other people. This does not mean that you are a lazy person that does not like to work. Sometimes for certain projects it is better if more people work on it and if each person sticks to its piece of the project to work on then things get done a lot more faster. Learn how to trust other people and forget about solving all the problems on your own.
4. Some people loose precious time when giving in to all kinds of other people’s requests. Learn that you can say NO to a project if you feel you already have a lot of work to do, or if you have already made other better plans. Think of the things that are important for you and get them done first and then look into your ‘neighbor’s garden’ and see if you can give him a hand. This rule works fine at work, but it should not be applied too often on your family. Postponing a trip with your children during the weekend just because you need to look over some files is not forgivable.
Time is something valuable. And I don’t mean here money. Time should be valued and used efficiently because at the end of the day it can bring you misery or happiness. Learning the value of your own time is important and can help you live a better life.

Its amazing. The older I get, the less I can get done, even though I am much more efficent at it. I don’t know why that is. These are all good thing, and I need to do them daily!
