8 Healthy habits you can add to your life
Maintaining your own health instead of having a so-called professional do it is not hard. The things you must do to keep a watch over your own body are simple. They involve common sense more than professional schooling, which means anyone can take charge of their own health. Here are eight tips you can implement today to make your life a little bit more healthy.
The first one is an easy one. Keep your teeth and gums clean. This means brushing after every meal and keeping gum disease at a minimum. Gum disease is linked to heart disease and other complications. Brush your teeth with a toothbrush that is right for your gums and teeth and do not forget to brush your tongue. Your tongue can harbor bad bacteria also.
The second habit you can get into easily is checking your own PH level and making sure it is balanced. You should look into getting a roll of PH paper and checking your PH level regularly. PH is the most basic of health tests you can give your body. A roll of PH paper is a maximum of about nine dollars and allows you to know the basic atmosphere inside your body. A PH level of around seven is optimum or “balanced”. Believe it or not bad bacteria are attracted to an atmosphere that is acidic. A PH level below seven is acidic. Cancer cells also live much better in an atmosphere that is acidic. Keep tabs on your PH level and help to avoid the bad health conditions that come from having an acidic atmosphere in your own body.
The third habit to get started on today is related to the second. Since most people do not know how to get their PH level up to a balanced level you will learn right now. You can use calcium to get your PH level balanced if you are acidic. You can use processed sugar to get your PH level balanced if you are too alkaline. Most overweight people in North America or Europe are not going to be too alkaline, but instead too acidic. Being too acidic means there is not enough oxygen available to the cells of your body. Calcium is the number one mineral in the body. It is no accident that calcium helps the body to have enough oxygen by balancing the PH level. If you are above forty years of age and are not sure if you are getting enough calcium, simply check your PH level. An acidic level in your body can be an indicator that you do not have enough calcium in your diet. This “third habit” is simple; just make sure you have enough calcium in your diet or use supplements, preferably liquid or in crushed form, not hard pills.
The fourth habit you can get into today is drinking a glass of wine daily. Did you know that one of the things that those who live to age one hundred have in common is that many of them drink a glass of wine per day ?
You already knew the fifth habit to get into. It is daily exercise. A sedentary lifestyle is a killer. Be active. Get into the habit of walking or swimming fast enough to be a bit on the hard side for you. It has the power to lengthen your life and give you better health to boot. If you sit in front of the television or computer for hours and hours during the day, you are helping to destroy your health. Become active, get outside and enjoy the world.
A sixth habit to get into is to make sure you drink clean water and breathe clean air. If you live in a big city and are reading this, this will be a hard task. But as hard as it may be, you know it is worth it. If you have to leave the city to get clean air your health will improve and your lungs will thank you for it. Enabling yourself to have avoid those terse chemicals is a good step towards a body free from harmful toxins.
A seventh habit to start today is start focusing on getting antioxidants into your body. These antioxidants help your body to defend itself against “free radicals”. Free radicals destroy perfectly good cells in your body. Therefore fighting these radicals is a sure step to having a better grade of health.
If you have an over abundance of family quarrels, start dealing with them. They are shortening your life span. Stress is a major health disorder and needs to be dealt with. Most stress starts at home or on the job. If you take away the stress at home, not only will you feel better you will be better. Be a peacemaker at home. End the divisions and lack of love at home and you will be more healthy.
As important as those eight healthy habits are, there is one more: get a job you like. One of the other things that those who live over one hundred have is that they enjoy the work they do. As stated before, living healthy does not require a medical degree, just some good old common sense.
