One can get swine flue twice? Yes, a man affected with swine flue virus can get it once again as it was said by the  National Institute of Virology.

The main reason here is mostly 15 to 20 percent of the people who had got infected cannot develop the antibodies inside them. Therefore the occurrences of getting the disease again are greater for the infected people.

A C Mishra, director of NIV said on Wednesday also gave an explanation that one who had got swine flue does not catch swine flue infection again like other flue virus his body will develop immune against swine flue virus .Then body can defend against swine flue if infected again .But some studies on swine flue people state that for 15 to 20 percent the immune system doesn’t develop antibodies against the virus. As a result some people can get swine flue twice.

Mishra said  ”One usually develops natural immunity after being infected with the virus. This system of defense is known as acquired immunity. One can also acquire immunity to swine flu virus when he or she gets a flu shot or takes the nasal flu vaccine.”
