Rectal cancer rates increasing gradually

Recent studies states that rectal cancer was gradually increasing in the Americans below the age of 40, but colon cancer rates are remained constant for years.

This study had examined information from US Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results. It also observed data from 1973 and 2005 regarding rectal cancer cases. SEER also having the data on nearly percent of cancer cases in the America. It had diagnosed colon and rectal cancer in 7,661 people below age of 40.

This study states that

Over years rates of rectal and colon cancer were low.

Colon cancer rates were constant over years.

Since 1984, rectal cancer cases were increasing steadily over the years.

Doctors also say that when a person reports with rectal bleeding he must be tested with endoscopic evaluation for the signs of rectal cancer.

Normally these are symptoms are normally seen for hemorrhoids.

Meyer also says “A person is at a higher risk for colorectal cancer if he or she has a family history of the disease, smokes, drinks a lot of alcohol, is obese, has a diet low in vegetables and high in red meat, and doesn’t get enough Vitamin D.” adding to this he also does not found any evidence for having rectal cancer with anal sex.
