Latest studies say that men who are suffering with chronic insomnia are having more chances to die when compared to the men having healthy sleep.
Women are able to cope with less sleep with out affecting their life than man. Scientists also found that less sleep can cause long-term health problems.
Dr Alexandros Vgontzas of the Penn State College of Medicine, said that “The primary finding of our study is that insomnia, the most common sleep disorder, is associated with significant mortality in men.”
They continued research on nearly 741 men and one thousand men who joined in the research in 1990s and provided a full sleep history. Researchers had also observed them for one night in their lab.
Nearly 8 percent and 4 percent women are identified with chronic insomnia and more people are sleeping less than 6 hours a day.
When they observed for a period of 14 years , men are more likely to die four times more than woman who are suffering with chronic insomnia and lesser sleep.
Causes for less sleep or chronic insomnia are mainly High B.P and diabetes ,smoking obesity etc.
Finally this study states that every people especially men need sleep more than 7 hours a day .
