An innovative research has recommended consuming about a handful of pecans daily in order to protect the nervous system.

The study, conducted at the Center for Cellular Neurobiology at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, has recommended that adding pecans to your diet may holdup the development of age-related motor neuron deterioration. This might comprise illnesses like amyotropic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Experts propose vitamin E – a natural antioxidant found in pecans – may offer a key element to neurological protection exposed in the research. Each of the three teams was fed a control diet or one of two diets containing differing amounts of pecans ground into their food. Normal testing techniques were used to decide how well the mice scored relative to motor neuron functions, both before and after they were provided with one of the three diets.

Mice provided a diet supplemented with pecans displayed a noteworthy delay in decline in motor function compared to mice getting no pecans. Mice eating the diet with the most pecans (0.05 percent) fared best. Both pecan teams fared notably better than those whose diets enclosed no pecans.
