Winter Health
The latest “cold season” is practically here. You can take that two ways. Since the Winters are getting colder, not warmer, the Winter temperatures are going to be extended. Practically no one likes this, but you can prepare for the “cold and flu season” by doing a few simple things. Read on to find out how to survive Winter and hopefully not get a flu.
An evaluation was done recently on five hundred adults. They were asked how many colds they got during the year. They were also asked how often they exercised in more than just a mild way. This physical exertion was more than just normal household duties. A short trip walking would not be included on the list as “exercise”. Those who did the most active exercise received twenty five per cent less colds during the year. The point here is that a good round of exercise, one that is a bit tiring, is a way to avoid a cold or flu. During the Winter months therefore, you can help your own body ward off the cold or flu by being not just more active, but by actually partaking in strenuous exercise. Remember the old saying; ” No pain, no gain. “.
The most needed vitamins for Winter.
One of the most needed vitamins during the Winter season is Vitamin D. This vitamin is associated with so many good biological events in the human body that it is hard to imagine it not being consumed regularly for its many benefits. Here we will talk about why Vitamin D is needed more during the Winter months and where you can get it naturally.
Vitamin D is formed when the oils on the skin and ultraviolet rays from the sun mix together. The sun in the sky is the first and most important source of vitamin D for our bodies. For this reason, those in the northern latitudes are going to be naturally receiving less of this important vitamin, simply because they get less sunlight in their section of the world. Some places like Alaska only see the sun for limited time periods. For two months out of the year the folks in Barrow, Alaska will not even see the sun because it will not come up. These folks need to supplement their intake of Vitamin D during this period and whenever their skin is not exposed to the healthy benefits of being exposed to the sun.
Herbal Remedies
Herbal remedies are the key to having the edge on normal health. If you are tired of being on the same old drug and hearing the same old news from your medical provider, you are not alone. Take another look at what herbs and herbal remedies can do for you and get relief from the people who fail at making you better.
Herbal remedies have been used for centuries and are trusted by more people in the world than modern drugs. Why is that ? Herbs have less side effects than chemicals. The organic compounds that make up herbs are made just like you are. Your body was not made in a vial in some laboratory and neither are herbal remedies. Modern medicine has given us some wonderful things for health but the drugs they use are inferior to herbal remedies. Take for instance the common Alfafa plant. It is used to treat kidney stones and relieve swelling. Again, it has been used for thousands of years. How long has the drug you have been using been around ? Which would you want to trust more ? Just because a government agency tells you it is safe does that make it so ? Results speak louder than the medical industry.
