Tips on how to keep heart diseases away from you
Heart affections like angina pectoris, myocardial infarction (the heart attack), and atherosclerosis are quite frequent among adults, mostly due to the irregular lifestyle we follow, filled with stress, unhealthy foods and lack of exercising.
It is vital that you do not wait for heart diseases to install, as it will be more difficult to treat them afterwards. This is why prevention is so important and why doctors insist and keep on telling us about the few simple steps we could follow in order to live a healthy life.
Here are some easy things you can do in order to maintain your hart healthy and young:
1. Quit smoking. One of the most dangerous threats to your heart system, and not only, is smoking. Giving up this habit is not easy and this is why most hospitals have a special program running for helping people who can’t handle this changing process on their own.
2. Stop living like a couch potato. Sedentary people usually develop heart conditions faster than other people do. Exercising at least three times a week, even for half an hour counts a lot for your health. The key to exercising is finding a sport that really makes you want to practice it. If you just exercise on something without enjoying what you do just because you are afraid of developing heart affections, you will not solve anything. You will only be stressed and unhappy when the time comes to exercise again and this is not a good thing for your health. Try a few sports before deciding upon following one. Another thing you could do is to exercise with one or more friends. This will make it easier for you.
3. Watch out for the bad cholesterol. The level of LDL cholesterol that your doctor wants to check out in your blood is the bad cholesterol. Eating unhealthy foods can make this level increase. Try replacing your normal oil that you use for cooking with extra virgin olive oil. This special oil seems to lower the bad cholesterol and increases the level of the good cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. Also, eat more fruits and vegetables and eat as less as you can fast food products.
Don’t act like other people do. Take your life in your hands and do something positive for your body before it is too late. A lot of people change their life and take protective measures only when they find out they already suffer of heart conditions. This is a good thing too, but sometimes it can be too late. Why act only when you get ill and not keep your heart healthy and young? It is all up to you my friend.
