5 Tips To Alleviate Itchy Feet
Your feet are always under assault and pressure. You walk on your feet, which means they have to take the full weight of your body. You wear shoes that totally consume them, or make them balance on heels. Sometimes you wear open toed shoes or flip-flops, or some other kind of shoes, that exposes them to the elements and all sorts of other dangers.
What can happen is that your feet could start feeling really itchy and uncomfortable. You might have dry skin. You might have developed an infection. You may have irritated them by rubbing. It doesn’t matter; itchy feet are an irritation you don’t like dealing with, especially if you can’t just stay home for a week laying in bed on top of the covers to give them a lot of open air.

Below are some ways you can help alleviate some of your itchiness as it pertains to your feet:
1. Washing your feet with a mild soap can help bring some immediate relief. You can do this independent of taking a full shower, but if you take a shower, you should take care of your feet afterwards, as your feet have possibly just been touched by your regular shower soap, shampoo, and possibly conditioner. Try to use a soap that has some kind of lotion or softener in it. Always pat your feet dry rather than rubbing them dry, but make sure to totally dry between your toes; not doing so could cause a fungus, and if you’re diabetic, could cause other problems.
2. Soaking your feet always feels pretty good. If you can add something to the water, such as something that adds a little fizz, or something that may have some type of lotion or oils, that works well also. However, don’t use any soaps to soak in that have any alcohol in them; these will only dry your feet, offering no relief once you’re done with your soak.
3. Putting lotion on your feet, especially lotion with moistening properties, is always recommended to make your feet feel and smell better. One thing about lotions, though, is to not put any between your toes.
4. Powder is great for helping your feet stay dry and smell nice, and it can also help keep your feet smooth. If you have chronic itching, a medicated powder could be just the thing you need. As opposed to lotion, putting powder between your toes is actually recommended to help keep your feet dry.
5. Let your feet breathe some time during every day. Many women come home from wearing stockings all day and put something else on their feet. They may even sleep in socks and the like. Feet need time to breathe, to feel the open air on them without containment. Of course you also want to keep your feet protected from things that may be on floors or carpets at the same time. Maybe a possible change in your lifestyle, which will also help with relaxation, is to find a way to have periods of time where you can elevate your feet, lay back, and relax, maybe while watching TV or reading a book. This will benefit more than just your feet.
Taking care of your feet is essential to a great quality of life; treat them well, and they’ll take you around the world.
