In Northern Greece 15 people were killed due to the attack of West Nile virus and nearly 158 other people were infected according to the Hellenic Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.

On Friday, 39 people were in hospital for treatment and more than 9 people were kept in I.C.U. However nearly 116 patients were discharged after successful treatment.

The virus is spreading through mosquitoes or blood transfusions. Some of the symptoms include neck stiffness, stupor, coma, tremors, paralysis, and vision loss. Health officials say that 80 percent of the people attacked have no signs or symptoms. Many government officials say that they are trying to prevent mosquitoes by spraying programs.

One can get swine flue twice? Yes, a man affected with swine flue virus can get it once again as it was said by the  National Institute of Virology.

The main reason here is mostly 15 to 20 percent of the people who had got infected cannot develop the antibodies inside them. Therefore the occurrences of getting the disease again are greater for the infected people.

A C Mishra, director of NIV said on Wednesday also gave an explanation that one who had got swine flue does not catch swine flue infection again like other flue virus his body will develop immune against swine flue virus .Then body can defend against swine flue if infected again .But some studies on swine flue people state that for 15 to 20 percent the immune system doesn’t develop antibodies against the virus. As a result some people can get swine flue twice.

Latest studies say that men who are suffering with chronic insomnia are having more chances to die when compared to the men having healthy sleep.

Women are able to cope with less sleep with out affecting their life than man. Scientists also found that less sleep can cause long-term health problems.

Dr Alexandros Vgontzas of the Penn State College of Medicine, said that “The primary finding of our study is that insomnia, the most common sleep disorder, is associated with significant mortality in men.”
They continued research on nearly 741 men and one thousand men who joined in the research in 1990s and provided a full sleep history. Researchers had also observed them for one night in their lab.

Everybody had heard about Melanoma, which is one type of skin cancer is caused by overexposure to the sun. Every year nearly 9,000 Americans die due to the Melanoma.

Normally melanoma patients have a gene that exactly promotes growth of cancer. They were to trying to disrupt the gene by using pills, which helps in shrinking the gene. It also had been perfectly tested on nearly 80 percent of patients who are having cancer and carrying the gene, increased the lifetime of patients more than seven months.

Before a decade, teen smoking rates were dropped, but they are slightly increasing that shows some prevention methods are needed, a new study says.

The researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told Cigarette smoking rates are decreased from 28% to 17 % during 2000 to 2009 in the high school student’s .Among middle school students it was decreased from 11 % to 5.2 %.

Nevertheless, from 2006 and 2009, the decreasing rates were not so happy – 19.8 % to 17.2 % among high school students and from 6.3 % to 5.2 % among middle school students.
