Endometrial cancer is the cancer of uterus. The uterus is located in the pelvic area and which looks like papaya or like a pear. Approximately, 90% of all uterine cancers are endometrial cancers. It affects many women every year and is one of the leading causes of death in post menopausal age. It is less malignant than the breast and cervical cancer. Cancer of uterus may arise after fibroids.
The cancer occurs in the cells of the inner lining of the uterus which is called the endometrium. As the cell of inner lining uterus grows, cancer is formed. The cause of endometrial cancer is exactly not known, but the majority of evidences that points towards high levels of estrogen which are mainly responsible for endometrial cancer. There are many risk factors which can leads to endometrial cancer are obesity, high intake of fats and proteins, woman having ovarian or breast cancer, diabetic women and women who have never been pregnant and high blood pressure.
